AMS is now Transsend
What's in a name? AMS has served us well but it's time for a new name that captures the essence of what our platform does for our customers. You could say we're all about helping businesses tabulate data in real time, so they can save time, save money, and operate with more agility.
What’s in a name?
AMS has served us well. When we launched our mobile software platform in 2010, technically descriptive names had a long and distinguished history. So did TLAs (Three Letter Acronyms - looking at you, IBM).
With that in mind, we came up with the phrase ‘Application Messaging Service’ and branded ourselves AMS.
To all the people who have known us and worked with us as AMS, we appreciate your support.
But now it’s time for a change.
Take it from here, Transsend.
Our new name, as you’ve probably already figured out, is Transsend.
Why the change? And why Transsend?
For a start, the platform in 2023 offers more features than ever to deliver a complete mobile data capture platform for customers. Messaging is still a key feature, but we wanted to better reflect the value creation that comes from digital transformation Then there’s the IP aspect. We wanted to secure a name that could be trademarked globally.
Our branding goal was to mirror what the platform does for our customers, and to move on from a purely technical description.
Features are good but benefits are better.
We wanted the new name to capture the essence of what our platform does for our customers. In a sentence, it captures and transfers robust data that enable better, faster decisions to be made.
You could say we’re all about helping businesses tabulate data in real time, so they can save time, save money, and operate with more agility.
Transsend is about people committing to digital transformation. It’s about having the insight to change the way your business does things.
The process of rebranding
It sounds simple - let’s change the name! But as many of you will know, it’s a time-consuming and detailed process with many twists and turns.
First, we had to check if Transsend was already taken by a company in our business ballpark. It wasn’t - so that was one hurdle surmounted. Next, we had to check if the name could be trademarked. It could.
Was the URL and domain available? It was.
Then we had to go through the exhaustive process of completing the design and trademarking it around the world in all the markets we operate in (and plan to enter).
The next step was applying the new name to the platform and reviewing all our brand assets and support material.
Last but not least, we had to redesign the user interface of our platform and website.
All those tasks have now been completed, so here we are in 2023. We’re Transsend.
And we’d love to work with you soon (or again).
